Today was La Virgen de Merced [or the Virgin of Mercy.] So to celebrate they put gun powder in a long line down the middle of many streets with firecrackers along the way- then they light. It was so loud that every time a firecracker would go off I could hear them clearly even with ear plugs! Then on the way back we met our friend Paola. Then a block before our house we saw and smelled freshly roasted chicken so we bought one whole chicken. Once we ate, we cleaned the house some more and then played some poker games.
Here's a video of the fireworks in the street and some pictures.
Here's some pictures of me and the yummy chicken we ate.
I'm glad that you were wearing ear plugs, Oscar! The firecrackers down the street sounds like fun, though ... I confess. The chicken does look yummy. Hope we can have some when we're with you. Love, Papa
ReplyDeleteMe too, I will be sure to get some chicken while your here.
DeleteThose firecrackers sound AWESOME. And the chicken makes me hungry, even though I just ate breakfast. Mexico seems like fireworks heaven.
